Obituary for Wyatt B. Martin

SPC, Wyatt B. Martin, 20, of Freeport, died Wednesday, January 28, 2015, in Clarksville, Tennessee. Wyatt was born September 15, 1994, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, he was the son of Jeffrey and Jennifer (McCurdy) Martin. Wyatt graduated from Immanuel Lutheran School and Freeport High School. Wyatt served in the U.S. Army from July 2013, serving in Korea from December 2013 until December 2014. Wyatt married Caroline "C.J." Hales on January 3, 2015. He had a servant heart, was a proud uncle, quick witted with an infectious smile. Wyatt played soccer and tennis at Freeport, and also in Concert Choir. He enjoyed fishing with his father, farming and fireworks. Wyatt was the glue of the Immanuel Lutheran Youth Program. Surviving are his wife, Caroline (Hales) Martin; parents Jeff and Jennifer Martin; sisters, Angela (Chris) McGee, Amanda Martin, Melissa (Matt) Kimber, Rebecca (Rick) Watkins, Nina (Gavin)Harn and Katie and (Andy) Pronsati; nieces and nephews, Triston, Conner and Olivia McGee, Damon Hill, Drake and Dustin Garbe, Cameron Wilson, Seth and Derek Blincoe, Mason McCleary, Leah Kimber, Alan Phillips, Sophia Watkins and Ethan and Hadlee Harn; grandparents, Murial Martin and Bruce and Connie McCurdy; and aunts and uncles, Bill and Marsha Martin, Dave and Dawn Martin, Michelle and Dan Roland and Suzanne and Michael Drew, Preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jerry Martin and sister, Paige Elizabeth Martin. Funeral services will b e 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2015, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Rev Richard "Ros" Schultz and Rev. Dr. Willis Schwichtenberg will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, also at Immanuel Lutheran. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Immanuel Lutheran Church and wounded Warrior Project in Wyatt's memory.
