Obituary for Wanda J. Bramer (Russman)

Wanda Jean (Russman) Bramer 1948—2016
Wanda Jean Bramer, 67, of Freeport, passed away to be with her Lord unexpectedly, Friday, June 10, 2016, in Lehigh Acres, FL, at her daughter's home. Wanda was born July 13, 1948, in Baltimore, MD, the daughter of Margaret Lucille (Swarts) and Dale Brewer Russman. Wanda and Kenneth Dale Bramer were joined in marriage in Dixon, IL on June 28, 1969, enjoying each other's companionship almost 48 years. Wanda was a graduate of Dixon High School in Dixon, IL, and then received a nursing degree from St. Francis School of Nursing in Peoria, IL. Wanda was a member of Cedarville United Methodist Church in Cedarville. Wanda enjoyed a 37 year career as a registered nurse. She worked for several different area doctors and disciplines of practice. Seven years she was a factory nurse for Honeywell, Inc. Wanda officially retired in 2010. She lived her life to the fullest always concerned about others first. Wanda's family meant the most to her and a great joy was seeing and talking to her grandchildren which she said was never enough. Wanda was an avid reader with a book or tablet frequently seen in her hand. A great computer game, face-booking, watching the birds feed, traveling or interacting with her dog, Zoey was also enjoyed. She had a humanitarian heart serving for many causes and officer positions as a Cedarville Lions Club member the last 12 years. Wanda is survived by her husband, Kenneth D Bramer of Freeport; their children, Ryan (Noel) Bramer of Cedarville, IL., Renee (Colt Adams) Bramer of Lehigh Acres, FL; six grandchildren, Gracie of Wilmer, AL, Jasmine, Savanna of Lehigh Acres, Kayleigh, Jordon, Zachery of Cedarville; and her sisters, Marceile (husband Ron) Pritchard and Jan (husband Art) Atilano, both of Dixon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Margaret Russman; brother, Brian Russman; maternal and paternal grandparents.
Funeral services celebrating Wanda's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Cedarville United Methodist Church in Cedarville, with the Rev. Bettye Mixon and Rev. Bill Blomberg officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel of Peace at the Oakland Cemetery Mausoleum in Freeport. Visitation will be 5 to 8p.m. Sunday at Walker Mortuary in Freeport. There will also be visitation one hour before the service. In loving memory of Wanda, memorials may be made to the Lions of Illinois Endowment Fund (LIEF), 2254 Orchard Dr., Sycamore, IL 60178.
