Obituary for Vernon George Eicholtz

Vernon George Eicholtz, 96, died December 21, 2009 in Provena Saint Joseph Center where he was a nine year resident. He was born August 28, 1913 in Schapville, Illinois the son of Henry and Louisa (Koehn) Eicholtz. Vernon married Irene C. Mullarkey on October 6, 1938 in Sacred Heart Cathedral, Davenport , Iowa. Vernon was a member of Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Freeport. Mr. Eicholtz is survived by his daughter, Sylvia (Gary) Nesemeier of Rockford, Illinois. Two granddaughters, Amy(William) Lowry of Houston, Texas and Ann Nesemeier of Dallas, Texas. His great-grandaughter, Irene Lowry of Houston, Texas. A brother in law Donald (Phyllis) Mullarkey of Harlingen , Texas and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one sister, two brothers and a nephew. Funeral Mass for Mr. Eicholtz will be Monday, 10:30 A.M. in Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Rev. Manny Recera will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 A. M. until time of Mass at Saint Thomas.. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Freeport. Memorials have been established for Provena Saint Joseph Center and F.H.N. Hospice.
