Obituary for Marilyn M. Rawleigh


Marilyn M. Rawleigh went to be with her Lord on Friday, July 27, 2012 at FHN memorial Hospital with her family by her side. Marilyn was born on November 9, 1928 in Freeport, daughter of Oscar and Frances (Krehl) Ruman.
She worked at Crum & Forster Insurance, Freeport Insurance, and the Freeport Clinic. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ. After retirement, Marilyn volunteered her time to her church, Freeport Area Church Cooperative, the Health Department, and the Stephenson County Visitor’s Center. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, going on short bus trips, reading, holiday decorating, and the social times with her many friends.
She is survived by her son, John (Paula) Rawleigh of Freeport; one grandson, Justin (crystal) Rawleigh of Chandler, Ariz.; three sisters, Sarah (Steve) Vandusartz of Osceola, Wis., Elizabeth (Cecil) Fansler of Shawnee, Kan., and Frances (rick) Clark of Oak Grove, Mo.
Marilyn is predeceased by her parents; one sister, Jeanne Heinrich; and niece Connie McCarthy.
A celebration of her life will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 3 at St. John United Church of Christ, 1010 S. park Blvd., Freeport, with burial following at Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Friday, August 3 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, W. Galena & Walnut Ave., Freeport.
