Kathy G.  Koch
Kathleen “Kathy” Gayle Koch 53, of Dakota died Wednesday November 7, 2007 at her home surrounded by her family following a courageous battle with cancer. Born February 10, 1954 in Freeport she was the daughter of William and Lois (Brinkmeier) Boeke. After graduating from the Dakota High School in 1972 she and Roger Laverne Koch were married December 2, 1972 at Dakota Presbyterian Church. She and her husband farmed in the Dakota area for many years prior to working for the Stephenson County DHIA for 18 yrs. She was well loved by the farming community. She was a familiar friendly face at the DHIA Milk booth at the Stephenson County Fair. Her hobbies included quilting, sewing, crafting, baking, gardening, and especially enjoyed her time with family and friends. She was an active participant of the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life, and a former member of the Freeport Squares. She is survived by her husband Roger of Dakota; one daughter Cary Sue (Ron) De Shazo; one granddaughter Audrey Kathleen DeShazo all of Southern Wisconsin; one son Eric Matthew (Corey Watson) Koch, one grandson Matthew Owen Koch all of Dakota, Mother Lois (Gerald) Boeke Pointer of Freeport; one sister Marilyn (Jim) Thoren of Orangeville; 5 brothers William Boeke Jr. of Freeport, Scott (Cheryl) Boeke of Sciota Mills, Bradley Boeke of Cleveland, OH, Neal (Lisa) Boeke of Juda, WI, Norman (Gwen) Boeke of Janesville, WI; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle, cousins and her cats Sassy and Festus. She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents, mother and father in-laws Emma and Harold Koch, and two nieces. Visitation will be Friday from 4 pm until 8 pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home and Cremation services in Dakota. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home with the Reverend L. Timothy Kidd of Dakota Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery and Mausoleum in Freeport. A memorial fund has been established in her name. Funeral Information Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home with the Reverend L. Timothy Kidd of Dakota Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery and Mausoleum in Freeport.
