Obituary for Carrie P. Evans

Carrie P. Evans, 99, of Freeport died Thursday August 19, 2010 at Manor Court of Liberty Village in Freeport.
Born in Gays Mills, WI on October 21, 1910, she was a daughter of Ole and Brita (Eide) Furaas. She married William T. Evans on February 14, 1942; he died in January of 1976.
Carrie graduated from Viroqua High School in Viroqua, WI and completed a two year program at Madison Business College in Madison, WI. She worked in the Payroll Department at Burgess Battery Company in Madison and in 1932 was asked to relocate with the company to Freeport, IL.
Carrie was a pink Lady and a volunteer at the Senior Center in Freeport for many years.
She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Freeport.
Survivors include two daughters, Gael (Nigel) Crouch of New Canaan, CT and Jean (Terrance) Reilly of El Cajon, CA; four grandchildren, Emily (Joseph) Clark, Mark Reilly, Paul Reilly, and Kelsey Reilly; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; a son, Richard; two sisters, Mabel Furaas and Olga Furaas; a brother, Clarence Furaas; and an infant brother Peder Furaas.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday August 23, 2010 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Freeport, with Rev. Mark S. Luepke officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
